The Stork Pin recognizes Paramedics and SSCs directly involved in the delivery of a newborn. It signifies the skill, compassion, and professional care provided during one of the most significant calls a responder can attend.
Award Criteria
Any Paramedic/SSC directly involved in the delivery of the baby from the initial steps to the delivery of the placenta will be eligible, and meet the following criteria:
- The SSC must give PAI instructions for delivery on the phone and the caller must follow the instructions.
- The Paramedics must be directly involved in the delivery of the newborn and/or the placenta.
Note: The second crew arriving on scene to take over care of the newborn would not qualify unless they were directly involved in the delivery of the newborn/placenta.
If you have questions regarding the Stork Pin criteria, please contact the NPA Board of Directors.
