ROSC Pin

NPA ROSC Pin Application

Award Criteria

Any Paramedic/SSC directly involved in the successful application of the links in the chain of survival, and meet the following criteria:

  1. The SSC must give PAI instruction for CPR on the phone and the caller must follow the instructions—this would indicate that the link in the chain remains intact.
  2. The Paramedic was directly involved in a ROSC as the third link in the chain prior to transfer of care to the hospital.
Note: If the Paramedic continues resuscitation care in the ER, and successfully regains a pulse prior to leaving the patient's side, this would also count as they continued to be part of the team leaving the links of the chain intact.
